Description

My online and insertion persona, Sirina!

Sirina is, well, sort of me, but also not. To me, a 'persona' is basically the person, entity or creature you would see yourself as in ANY setting, fandom or ideal. Basically, my definition of a persona is a 'true' form to one's ideal and imagination - your very core given form. You can name them, give them a look, abilities, style, even make them an entirely original species if you so desire - but they will always be a part of you, an extension or avatar if you will. They're not an OC or self-insert, but rather your ideal; the person or thing you would like to be if you were given the complete choice to be dropped into a different life or reality. They are both your guardian and your ward - they are, in a sense, your Other Self (Black Rock Shooter reference).

I often use my persona in RPs, and Sirina here was created and given a more tangible image fairly recently due to the RotG (Rise of the Guardians) franchise! Her name is Greek, and means 'of the Sirens'. Quite fitting considering she is a sea entity.

Sirina is an Abyssal, and has been given the title of 'Abyssal Witch' by her wards and people who have met her. She guards and watches over the Deep Things and other Abyssal creatures that live in her oceanic dimension. The door to her domain is supposedly at the deepest point of The Mariana Trench (the deepest known point of the human ocean), but she can supposedly be reached through any water source, more easily through scrying pools. She guards and holds the secrets to the unknown itself, of the dark places in the deepest sea and the darkest reaches of space, and knows of every creature that inhabits these dark places.

Supposedly, Sirina's wards have the ability to enter the minds of special humans who had the mental capacity to see and comprehend them and their strange language. One such human was one Howard Philips Lovecraft, who was lucky yet unlucky enough to comprehend and give form to one of Sirina's most well known wards, Cthulhu. But like most minds who have seen such Abyssals and Deep Things, he did not last very long in his life. The sight of such creatures often bringing sickness, death and misfortune in exchange to those who beg to see and comprehend them in their dreams and within the darkest reaches of the mind.

Sirina's manner of coming to be is mostly unknown, but it is theorized that she used to be human at one point, and had died at sea. Masters and Mistresses of Abyssals and Deep Things are rare and have only ever been called upon one or two other times in the past. Sirina is the third generation of Master/Mistress to these entities, and she plans to stick around longer than her predecessors. She survived being eaten, but not destroyed, by the abyss itself after all; and she refuses to lose her position within a few centuries.

Sirina's weapon of choice is a Trident made from a strange, black spatial metal inlaid with an even stranger glowing pearl-like gem in the base of the middle prong.

Her eyes, when in the dark of her home, light up with rings of eerie white, and her once missing pupils reveal themselves as bright white dots. These rings and her pupils are not visible in normal lighting and can only be seen when it's dark, or she's actively flaring her power and energy to warn off fools entering her territory. They are purple and black otherwise.

A notable trait of Sirina's is that she does not have legs. She appears to wear a strange, chameleon skin-like dress that shifts colors between black, indigo, dark blue and purple, and its hem ends in long, thick tentacles with two squid-like arms protruding from her hips. If one were to look under her 'dress', they would find nothing but a black void, and possibly assume she was hollow. But she is not; she is not a linear or 'sensible' entity - but the sight of her won't drive people insane like her wards. Her dress is not even truly a 'dress', but seems to be an actual part of her body that looks like clothing. She also wears bicep length, fingerless gloves.

On parts of her body, she wears pearl-like gems not unlike the one on her Trident. These 'gems' are of unknown origin and seem to boast a strange, ethereal light and connection to her body and mind. They can dim, flash and glow in various colors and brightness depending on her mood and her whim. They seem to copy the bio-luminescent abilities of many deep-sea animals, and she often uses them to intimidate, attract or scare things in her territory. She even uses them to wordlessly communicate with her wards and other sea creatures. Her crown is supposed to resemble the cone mantle of a squid, but much more squat, and seems to resemble a diadem, headband, or even headphones since it boasts large gems on the sides of her head - to have her head imitate the large eyes and body of a squid supposedly. Her hair is bound in two overly long pigtails that start from these headphone-like gems and trail down to her tentacles, once more to imitate the long arms of a squid. Her hair is even animated and 'alive' in that she can control it and use it to grab and move things like extra arms.

Her abilities lay in the realms of aquakenesis (the ability to control any and all forms of water) and mind-based abilities (telekinesis, levitation, illusion, and mind alterations/control). She can even transcend space itself through any body of water - she can leap into a puddle and pop up in your bathtub if there's water in it. Supposedly she can alter space as well, but this ability has not been proven to be true as of yet.

Mostly quiet, Sirina often keeps to herself and to bodies of water - typically the sea, but she will often explore lakes, rivers and other large bodies of water. She is not limited in terms of the depths of water she can survive in - unlike marine animals who cannot ascend or descent certain levels of water without dying. She can come up on land with the aid of her telekinesis, but she does not often do this, and will almost never come onto land in the day. The only times she will willingly come onto land is when it is pouring rain, or it is night. When she does though, she dons a glamour created by her squid/octopus-like ability to change her form into a disguise. This disguise is almost always of a young girl wearing a long black and purple rain coat, waterlogged galoshes, and an umbrella. She has fully functional legs in this form, and really only ever uses this form when it is raining and if she has the urge to enter a populated area. Otherwise she will simply hang out in flooded and isolated areas away from humans. The cold of water and weather has no effect on her, and her feet and hands are tinged dark blue in an imitation of icy hypothermia. She is cold and clammy to the touch, and her hair never seems to dry.

And that's it! Well, there's more actually, but I think this is a biiiiit longer than it needs to be. ^^;

I actually did this image some years ago, but never finished it. I found it, cleaned it up, and decided what the hell, I'll post it!

Let me know what you think!

The concept of Abyssals (in this context and my canon), Deep Things(in this context and my canon), and Sirina all belong to me, Sumi-Sprite. DO NOT STEAL OR REUSE THESE CONCEPTS OR THIS IMAGE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
